The main pharmacological action of the active ingredient in Fluconix-340, nitroxinil, is fasciolicidal. The lethal action against Fasciola hepatica has been demonstrated in vitro and in vivo in laboratory animals, and in sheep and cattle. The mechanism of action is due to uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation. It is also active against triclabendazole-resistant
F. hepatica.
 
Composition
Contains per ml.:
Nitroxinil 340 mg.
Solvents ad. 1 ml.
 
Indications
GRDfluconix-340 is indicated for the treatment of fascioliasis (infestations of mature and immature Fasciola hepatica) in cattle and sheep. It is also effective, at the recommended dose rate, against adult and larval infestations of Haemonchus contortus in cattle and sheep and Haemonchus placei, Oesophagostomum radiatum and Bunostomum phlebotomum in cattle.
Contra indications
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient.
Do not use in animals producing milk for human consumption.
Do not exceed stated dose.
 
Side effects
Small swellings are occasionally observed at the injection site in cattle. These can be avoided by injecting the dose in two separate sites and massaging well to disperse the solution. No systemic ill effects are to be expected when animals (including pregnant cows and ewes) are treated at normal dosage.
 
Dosage
Administer by subcutaneous injection:
The standard dosage is 10 mg nitroxinil per kg body weight.
Sheep: Administer according to the following doses scale:
 
14 - 20 kg    :0.5ml
21 - 30 kg    :0.75ml
31 - 40 kg    :1ml
41 - 55 kg    :1.5 ml
56 - 75 kg    :2.0 ml
 75 kg        :2.5 ml

Lungworms,lice,mites and other parasites In sheep: Gastrointestinal roundworms: Haemonchus contortus(adults and immatures),Ostertagia circumcincta,O.trifurcata Trichostrongylus axei,T.colubriformis,T.vitrinus,Nematodirus filicollis,Cooperia curticei Oesophagostomum columbianum,O.venulosum,Chabertia ovina,Trichuris ovis. Lungworms,nasal bot,mange mites. Dosage and Administration: Ivetmecti injection may be given with any standard automatic or single-dose syringe,the recommonded dose level is 1ml per 50kg bodyweight which should be given only by subcutaneous injection. Mode of Action: Ivermectin paralyzed and ultimately kill parasitic nematodes,arachnids and insects by a unique effect on the nervous systems of these parasites.At therapeutic doses,ivermectin is well tolerated by livestock since it does not readily penetrate the central nervous system.
