It is learned that chrome ore is also separated by intensity magnetic separator and floatation separation. A beneficiation factory in Yugoslavic uses floatation separation to get chrome concentrate of 54% Cr with the recovery rate of 46.4% from raw ore of 36.8% Cr. But floatation separation is not common in the practical operation.

Jig separator is a common separation for chrome ore. Jigger and shaking table can deal with chrome ore of fine, medium embedded chrome ore to gain high-grade chrome concentrate.

For most chrome ore, the embedded size is fine, and gravity separation can wokk well with its low operation cost and apparent beneficiation efficiency. The whole process can be:  crushing--screening--rod milling--jigging--dewatering. The crusher crushed the chromite ore to be -10mm, and the output from the crusher will go for rod mill for further liberation of the chromite granules like -1mm. And the output from the rod mill went for the jigger to gain high-quality chrome concentrate. And finally, dewatering screen is used to dewater the concentrate.
