Function :

1.Quercetin is used for treating conditions of the heart and blood vessels including "hardening of the arteries" (atherosclerosis), high cholesterol, heart disease and circulation problems.

2.Quercetin is also used to increase endurance and improve athletic performance.

3.Quercetin is also used for diabetes, cataracts, hay fever, peptic ulcer, schizophrenia, inflammation, asthma, gout, viral infections, chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS), preventing cancer and for treating chronic infections of the prostate.

4.Quercetin has anticancer activity, inhibits PI3-kinase activity and slightly inhibits PIP Kinase activity, reduces cancer cell growth via type II estrogen receptors.

Application :

Quercetin has a good expectorant, cough, and some asthma, for the treatment of chronic bronchitis. There are also lower blood pressure, increased capillary resistance, reduce capillary fragility, lowering blood pressure, expansion of coronary artery, increase coronary blood flow and so the role of adjuvant therapy for patients with coronary heart disease and high blood pressure.Applied in daily necessities field, aslo added into a large amount of oral cleaning products, such as dentifrices, mouthwash and tooth powder;Applied in pharmaceutical field, because of the function of inhibition and paralysis to sensory nerve endings, it canbe used as counter irritant.
