Food Grade CMC E466 can be use to replace Guar Algingum, Gelatin, Agar-agar and Sodium ate by its various function including thickening, emulsifying, body-structuring, and stabilizing, etc.


It can reduce production cost, increase food quality, improve mouthfeel or freshness, extend shelf life, and is one of the essential food additives in the food industry.

Food Grade CMC e466 has been widely used in frozen foods, canned foods, candy, biscuits, meat, snacks, noodles, instant foods, ice cream, jams, salad dressings, sauce and all kinds of liquid beverage, like milk, yogurt, juice, soft drinking and liquor.

Applications in Ice Cream

1. Enhance the viscosity of mixed solution, prevent grease from floating up.
2. Improve the uniformity of the system, reduce the generation of big crystal.
3. Strengthen the anti-melt ability of the ice cream and make it taste delicate and smooth.
4. Reduce the use of solid materials and lower the cost.

Applications in Yogurt Products

1. Enhance the thickness and improve the quality, status taste and stabilize the system.

Applications in Bread and Cake

Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose used in other Industry:
Textile Industry:
Due to water-solubility, film making ability and binding characteristic, CMC is being used in sizing of yarns in warping. Also, CMC with high viscosity levels are used in printing fabrics; either with sodium alginate or replacing it.

Drilling Insdustry:
In oil industry, CMC is being used together with barite bentonite, and clay in order to prepare drilling muds, which helps controlling suspension, and getting out the sand in the drilling process.

Glue and Adhesive Industry:
By making use of water solubility and binding properties, CMC is used as glue for wallpaper applications, and is also used in leather industry too.

Paper Industry:
CMC is used in paper industry for binding the ingredients, and for increasing the strenght of paper. Some purified and technical grades are also used for smoothing the surface of paper, which means better printability and quality.

Paint Industry:
It is used in paints to control the flow property of paints.

Construction Industry:
CMC can be used with plaster and cement. The main objective is to prevent early freezing; that way, it becomes quite easy to work on plaster in a longer period.

Detergent Industry:
CMC is used in detergent industry widely due to its property of getting the dirt particules with the rinsing water. In cream detergents, it prevents the drying of surface and CMC can hold the water (moisture) for a long time.
