Silicon Dioxide has a large surface area, good mobility, a greater adsorption to drugs, strong hydrophilic property, in the amount of 1% in order to accelerate the disintegration of the tablet, and disintegrating very fine, there is conducive to drug absorption.
Silicon Dioxide is used as a glidant general concentration of 0.15 to 3%. The product of oil, cream slip drugs is particularly suitable. With its preparation into particles with good flowability and compressibility, poor liquidity and rarely sticking phenomenon.

Silica gel is a food additive and desiccant that helps absorb water.

5. Different types of Silicon Dioxide

Although sand and quartz crystals may appear different, they are both made primarily of silicon dioxide.
