1. Anti-gout drug for the treatment of gout, gouty kidney disease
2. Allopurinol and its metabolites other xanthine, have inhibited the role of xanthine oxidase, and thus blocked uric acid synthesis, lower blood uric acid concentration, reduce urate in bone, joint and kidney calm. Clinical for gout, gouty kidney disease. Pregnant women with caution; some patients may be rash, gastrointestinal reactions and liver and hematopoietic system damage, such as elevated transaminase and leukopenia; with the anti-cancer drug 6-mercaptopurine in combination, to 6-mercaptopurine dose reduced to constant.
