Activated carbon is black solid pieces or pellets, a highly porous material. the granular activated carbon possesses a large internal surface area that makes it possible to hold back impurities and contaminants.
Activated Carbon is particularly effective in the removal of organic contaminants such as pesticides, chlorinated and aromatic solvents, oils, color bodies, phenols, tannin, taste and odour producing compound. It can be used for the removal of excess of oxidant such as chlorine, ozone, hydrogen peroxide and permanganate.
It is suitable for different applications such as purification of water intended for human consumption, process water and condensate stream purification, and wastewater treatment. It is used in purification and decolourisation process of chemicals and food stuff and in MEA and DEA purification.
