UNIVER CTC-2000 Series optical cable testing machine is specially designed to apply tensile force on indoor optical cables; it also has an extensometer to measure the cable elongation for optical cable under tension.
in tensile test, the cable is wound in the machine over appropriately sized sheaves. the cable is pulled at a specified rate until a pre-determined tension is applied. the cable is laid to rest under tension as per detail specifications, and then the attenuation and fiber length are measured.
