I. Description 

 

Usail 7042 is a liquid, water / glycol soluble, tolutriazole derivative which acts as a metal deactivator.

II. Applications and typical treat levels

All types of water based fluids,when used at 0.1 - 0.3% with pH > 7, such as:

Antifreeze (engine coolants)

High water based hydraulic fluids (HFA)

Water glycol hydraulic fluids (HFC)

Metal working fluids (emulsions and synthetics)

 

III. Benefits 

- Easy to handle liquid;

- Suitable replacement for benzotriazole and tolutriazole

- Protects yellow metals and cobalt alloys from corrosion

IV.

Not recommended for use in combination with nitrites due to the possible formation of nitrosamines

 

May begin to crystallise if stored at temperatures below 5 °C

in water and in glycols there is a solubility gap. (Details are available on request).
