Why are LED's better for plant growth?
LED's are better for plant growth in all stages for many reasons, but lets start with what the main problems are with traditional lighting. with a traditional HID / HPS type of lighting fixture your plants are only making use of approximately 10%-15% of the light output (the output is of extremely wide bandwidth), this is of course highly inefficient and undesirable. Why the red LED should outnumber blue LEDs is a question that may arise in the user's mind. the wavelength of the red LED is not very wide, so there should be more red LEDs than blue LEDs.   • Ultraviolet light: Ultraviolet light is not very common but it can be an option for experimentation. It is important to mimic the outdoor conditions and creat artificial conditions so that plants get the right mixture and wavelengths of the light.
