Trans-resveratrol

Introduction
Polygonum cuspidatum is an herb that has become popular since it is a rich source of resveratrol. the official name of Polygonum cuspidatum is Japanese knotweed but it is also known as Mexican bamboo, crimson beauty,Japanese fleece flower, Reynoutria fleece flower, Kontiki bamboo, and Japanese polygonum. Some of these common names arose,because this species has been used as an ornamental plant in many countries.

Indications and Uses
Studies suggest that resveratrol has anti-atherosclerotic activity and that it might have some immune-stimulating and anti-cancer effects. Human studies are few in number and inconclusive due to short duration and poor design.
