Traceable Duct Rodder

Mainly application: incorporates a or some pieces copper trace wires in the rod for locating and tracing underground conduit or pipe without digging or trenching.

 

the Rod:

the rod of traceable duct rodder diameter is 4.5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 15mm, 16mm and the length is from 50m to 300m. 

 

the rod is composed of fiber glass rod which was extruded by fiber glass and high strength resin at high temperature. this type of rod has high tensile strength and flexibility. It was covered by a high density polyethylene engineering plastic as its protect layer which make duct rodder cover sliding on surface, durable, corrosion resistant and has good insulation performance. Such perfect design has high safety aspects to use for electric wire laying applications because of its non conductivity of electricity and sets a major safety to site workers.

Traceable Duct Rodder incorporates a or some pieces copper trace wires in the rod for locating 

and tracing underground conduit or pipe without digging or trenching. the copper trace wire diameters are different according to the rod diameters. the quantity of the copper trace wire can be made as your request.

 

There are meter marks on the protect layer of the rod which can be used for measuring distance. Marks are printed by professional printing machine, which has the advantage of strong adhesion, clear writing, waterproof, anti-ultraviolet, it can be still clear even after using many times.

the meter mark can be measured in mm or feet and we also can print your company website on the rod according to your request.

 

Two pieces of copper material drawing heads are crimped on the end of the rod which can be connected with the cable or wire. We also can supply different types of drawing head according to your usage.

 

the Frame:

Frames are also a feature of the duct rodder systems. the rod will be equipped with different size frame according to the length.

the frame is welded with 0.35mm thick steel tube and electroplating spraying into different color.   the lead ring on the frame is the gallery of the rod. Hand operated brake is used for controlling payout of the pulling rod. the rotating and stopping of the rod can be easily controlled by the brake device. All of the frame design make the whole structure is much more stable when pulling the rod from the frame. so that the product make every unit more usable and friendly for the end user.

 

Different frame color can be choose, but the most popular color is silver and black. 

 

Rod Selection 

Which is the right rod diameter for any given application? the rod selection is usually governed by several factors including: 

the size of ducting it is to be pushed through 

the distance the rod is to be pushed 

the number and tightness of bends in the ducting 

If the ducting is already occupied by cable 

 

When being pushed through the duct, any rod will tend to form " sine waves", hitting the wall of the duct at certain intervals. Each time the rod comes in contact with the wall of the duct, it causes friction. the friction will build and eventually prevent the rod from being pushed any further. Small rod in large duct will make more frequent contact with the ducting; the same rod in smaller duct will make less frequent contact and therefore less friction so it can be pushed further. Large rod in small ducting is a good situation, but reduced flexibility of the rod may cause increased friction in the tighter bends.
