this is a biogas project by using glass fused to steel tank as anaerobic digester in Inner Mongolia, with corn straw as raw material, livestock and poultry manure, other organic waste were added to generate biogas on a large scale and in an industrial way. We manufactured 4 sets of Glass-Fused-to-Steel tanks as anaerobic digesters for this biogas project. Due to the operation temperature design requirement, all anaerobic digesters are insulated. and generated biogas can be temporarily stored in the double membrane roofs which integrated on the top of GFS tanks.

 

Utilizing Glass-Fused-to-Steel tank as anaerobic digester is not new and has long been used to digest sewage sludge at waste water treatment plants to reduce the organics of the sludge before disposing of it.  the resulting biogas is typically flared or burned to heat the digester itself.  Landfills are another example where anaerobic decomposition occurs and could be considered a type of anaerobic digester, although the landfill is not well sealed.  Larger landfills use glass fused to steel tank as biogas storage tank to collect the landfill biogas and route it to engines to produce electricity.
