Caustic Soda Flake is obtained from Sodium hydroxide solution, by electrolytic process and further concentration and solidification. It is a white solid, hygroscopic, odorless substance. Caustic soda flakes easily dissolves in water, with heat release. The produce is soluble in methyl and ethyl alcohols. Sodium hydroxide is a strong electrolyte (completely ionized) both in crystalline and solution stages. Sodium hydroxide solution is not volatile. It is insoluble in ethyl ether.
