This offers an ideal means of interfacing a shaft encoder to an FX2N PLC. It counts 1 or 2 phase (A/B) inputs up to 50kHz and has two 0.5A, 5 to 24Vdc NPN open collector transistor outputs which are controlled independently from the main program cycle. Counting can be enabled or reset by the PLC or external inputs, as can count direction (up/down). The module is powered by the base unit.
