Introduction

Carboxymethyl cellulose (carboxymethyl cellulose, CMC) is an alkyl cellulose ether obtained by chemical modification of natural cellulose. The application of the stratum, the sodium salt commonly made by its products, has the molecular formula [C6H7O2 (OH) 2OCH2COONa] n.

Physicochemical properties

Main application

Widely used in oil industry drilling mud treatment agent, synthetic detergent, organic builder, textile printing and dyeing sizing agent, daily-use chemical products water-soluble colloidal tackifier, tackifier and emulsifier for pharmaceutical industry, and food industry Thickener, adhesive for ceramic industry, industrial paste, sizing agent for paper industry, etc. [4] Used as flocculant in water treatment, mainly used for wastewater sludge treatment, can increase the solid content of filter cake

Preventing re-deposition of dirt effect

Adding in detergent has the function of preventing the re-deposition of dirt. the working principle is that negatively charged dirt granule and charged  molecular absorbing on fabrics has mutual electrostatic repulsion. 

Thickening effect

 can effectively thicken washing slurry or soap lye, stabilize the structure of compositions. with dosage of 0.5%-2.0% can get satisfactory performance.
