Weather station use ultrasonic sensors for wind speed and directions

  

 

Wind speed is measured using the speed of ultrasonic waves propagating in the air affected by air flow. Non-inertial measurement, accurate measurement of high-frequency components of gust pulsations in the wind, the device uses four ultrasonic probes to cyclically send and receive ultrasonic waves in a two-dimensional plane and measure wind speed and direction through the time difference propagated in the air.
