Properties: colorless monoclinic crystal or white crystal, easily soluble in water, liquid ammonia, methanol and ethanol. It is stable at room temperature, with a relative density of 1.461, which is higher than the melting point of 95°C and dehydrated to form basic magnesium nitrate. It will start to decompose when heated to 300°C, and completely decompose into magnesium oxide and nitrogen oxide gas when it reaches 400°C.
Uses: Industrially used as a dehydrating agent for concentrated nitric acid, manufacturing explosives, catalyst catalysts and other magnesium and nitrate raw materials, wheat ashing agent, etc. In agriculture, soluble nitrogen and magnesium fertilizers are used as fertilizers for soilless cultivation.
