Description of sucker rod pump:

the Sucker rod pump is connected to sucker rod after being assemblied on the surface then it is pulled down to the well bottom through the tubing. Thus it is convenient for the inspection and workover because they can be pulled up and down through the tubing and suitable for deeper well.

Rod pump:

Rod pump is also referred to as "insert pump" as its plunger is attached to, and moves up and down with the sucker rod string. It is suitable for reducing the time of workover for deep well as it is not necessary to pull all the tubing out of the well hole when checking the pump, which makes the operation quicker and the service life of tubing longer.the rod pump is in a state of "free hanging",so it is suitable for deviated wells. According to seating mode,the rod pump can be divided into two types:cup hold-down and mechanical hold-down. According to anchored position, the pump can be divided into top hold-down pumps and bottom hold-down pumps which include stationary barrel and traveling barrel types.

Tubing Pump:

for tubing pump, the barrel is put in the well to the designed depth with tubing. and then put the plunger into the barrel with sucker rod. Given the tubing size, the bore of the tubing pump is larger than that of the rod pump, so the pump rate is higher. According to seating mode, the rod pump can be divided into three types: THC pump (Stationary Heavy Wall, Cup Seating, Tubing pump), THM pump (Stationary Heavy Wall Mech. Seating, Tubing Pump) and THD pump.

Sucker rods are designed for transmission of translational or rotational motion from ground drive to the well pump for oil extraction. the rods are round cross-section bars whose ends are provided with upset heads and thread.
the rods can be rigged with various centralizers, to protect rods, couplings, and oil well tubing from wear; rods can be additionally provided with mobile scrapers for removal of paraffin deposits. "D" class sucker rods (as per API specification) display enhanced strength and anticorrosion properties, and are highly competitive in terms of quality with the products of world famous manufacturers.
