Powder coatings are solid powdered synthetic resin coatings consisting of solid resins, pigments, fillers and additives. Unlike ordinary solvent-based and water-based coatings, its dispersion medium is not solvent and water, but air. It has no solvent pollution, 100% film formation and low energy consumption. Powder coatings are available in two categories: thermoplastic and thermosetting. Thermoplastic powder coatings have a poor film appearance (gloss and leveling) and poor adhesion to metal, so they are rarely used in automotive painting. The appearance and various mechanical properties of the paint film formed by this type of coating and corrosion resistance can meet the requirements of automotive finishing.
