1. Product Overview
Aluminum Paste Powder, also known as Aluminum Paste or Aluminum Powder Paste, is a specialized functional material serving as a critical gas-forming agent. It is a homogeneous suspension of fine, lamellar (flake-shaped) aluminum metal particles within a protective dispersing medium. this unique composition is engineered to react in alkaline environments, producing hydrogen gas, which is fundamental to creating lightweight, cellular structures in materials like Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC). Its primary value lies in providing a controlled, predictable, and efficient reaction, making it indispensable in construction and other industrial sectors.
2. Key Characteristics & Specifications
Our Aluminum Paste Powder is defined by a set of stringent physical and chemical properties that ensure optimal performance:
Physical State: Viscous, homogeneous paste with no separation.
Color: Grey to silver-grey.
Solid Content: 65% - 75%.
Active Aluminum Content: 65% - 75% (on dry basis).
Particle Size (D50): Customizable between 20 - 80 m.
Reactivity: Adjustable from 50% to 90% to suit specific raw materials.
Gas Yield: Typically ≥ 60 liters of H per kg of 100% active Al.
Density: 1.3 - 1.6 g/cm3.
3. Core Manufacturing Process
the production is a precise, multi-stage operation:
Atomization: Molten high-purity aluminum is transformed into fine spherical powder.
Wet Ball Milling: the spherical powder is milled in a medium (mineral spirit or water) with lubricants (e.g., stearic acid) to flatten the particles into thin, lamellar flakes.
Classification & Blending: the paste is sieved to achieve a consistent particle size distribution and blended for batch uniformity.
Quality Control & Packaging: Every batch undergoes rigorous testing for key parameters before being sealed in 120kg/150kg drums or 1000kg IBC totes to prevent oxidation.
4. Primary Application: Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC)
in AAC production, the paste is the key to lightness. When added to the slurry of cement, lime, sand, and water, the aluminum reacts with calcium hydroxide and water:
