Brown fused alumina is made from bauxite and carbon (anthracite) high heated in electric cooker. The main ingredients are AL2O3 and TIO2, as well as a little SiO2 and Fe2O3.The rigidity is HVl800-2200. Its tenacity is higher than SiC. The tools made from brown fused alumina is suitable for grinding the special metals like steels. Besides it can be made into refractory materials.
