Stannous Chloride will oxidize to Stannic Oxide on prolonged exposure in the environment. It can dissolve in alcohol, ethyl acetate and glacial acetic acid. It's also a reducing agent. If reacting with alkali, Stannous Chloride will form water and oxidative precipitate. When alkali is surplus, it will form soluble stannous acetate. 3.
