Our Sky lanterns/Balloons (may also be called Fire Lanterns, Kung Ming, Khoom Fay or UFO shaped balloons) are manufactured here in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. They are ideal for celebrations, like weddings, birthdays, BBQs, promotions, corporate events or parties. Lighting a sky lantern is an exciting feeling, the pull of the hot air wanting to lift the lantern upwards and once it is ready to fly, watch it slowly drift of into the night sky. It is a belief in Asia that the Sky Lantern will take away your troubles and it is good luck in Thailand to write best wishes or a message on your sky/fire lantern. Our lanterns are made out of rice paper, wax, thin wire and a bamboo frame. All you have to do is: Attach the rolled wax paper to the wires Extend the lantern to its full length Light the wax paper Wait for the hot air to create enough lift, which it wants to pull out of your hands Let go The lantern will burn for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, after which the wax paper extinguishes and the lantern will slowly float back to earth.
