Egypt Japan Steel Works (EJSW) was established in 1985 and started production in 1988 as an industrial facility for producing steel forged spare parts and components for industrial machines and equipment for various industrial sectors up to 3 tons/piece either as forged only.
In 1990 EJSW was approved as a qualified supplier for standard and non-standard steel flanges for petroleum, and steel spare parts and components for cement and steel sectors.
In 1991 EJSW has developed its production facilities to produce complete equipment for industrial production lines such as complete rolling stand for re-bar mills.
In 1997 EJSW has developed its quality system to match with ISO 9001 requirements and accordingly EJSW obtained ISO 9001 certification.
In 1999 EJSW has added a cladding facility with weld over-lay technique and produced its first cladded part.
In 2000 EJSW was qualified by Lloyd's and obtained certification for forging in carbon–manganese, alloy steel, and also developed its quality system to match with ISO 9001-2000 requirements.
In 2002 EJSW developed and expanded its technical services to cover the repair and maintenance of components and machines
